I write in connection with the article entitled ”India accused of bias on AIDS” by Sheila Tefft in the Chicago Tribune on March 3.

For the record, it is totally incorrect to state that the testing for AIDS is being done selectively. After a few cases of AIDS were detected in India, it was decided that all foreign student residents in India would be required to undergo a test for AIDS.

I may also add that in the last few months, a substantially larger number of Indians have undergone tests for AIDS than foreign residents in India.
