Dart Group Corp. withdrew its $1.7 billion, or $45-a-share, proposal to acquire Supermarkets General Corp. but said it hasn`t lost interest in acquiring the food retailer. Supermarkets General hadn`t responded to the Dart proposal, and Dart said ”prudent business dictates that our bid of over $1.7 billion should not remain open indefinitely without response or negotiation.”
