Commerce Secretary Malcolm Baldrige said American firms cannot compete in nations with trade barriers like South Korea`s and warned that the United States may say, ”if your markets are closed, I`ll close mine.” Baldrige told a trade group in Seoul, ”It`s not much more complicated than that,” as he began an 11-day trip to South Korea, China, Hong Kong and the Philippines.
