Merrill Lynch Capital Partners said the number of shares tendered in AV Acquiring Corp.`s offer for Borg-Warner Corp. at $48.50 a share totaled 81.33 million, more than the 77.6 million sought. Merrill Lynch said AV Acquiring accepted 95.4 percent of the shares tendered, or 77.6 million shares, on a pro-rata basis.
