IC Industries Inc. said second-quarter earnings rose 29 percent, to $46 million, or 41 cents a share, from $35.6 million, or 32 cents a share, in the year-earlier period. Revenues increased 9 percent, to $1.12 billion from $1.03 billion.
For the first half of 1987, IC said its net rose 22 percent, to $74.9 million, or 66 cents a share, from $61.2 million, or 56 cents a share, a year earlier.
Revenues increased 9 percent, to a record $2.17 billion from $1.99 billion.
IC said that during the second quarter its Pet, Pepsi-Cola General Bottlers and Pneumo Abex units set sales and earnings records, while its Midas Muffler subsidiary reported record earnings on a 5 percent drop in sales.
However, its Hussmann Corp. unit and its railroad operations showed declines in operating income.
