It is simply incredible that Mayor Washington and CHA Director Brenda Gaines officially registered their objections on July 22 to HUD`s appraisal of the CHA, which was issued May 27. The CHA`s seven-week response time merely calls attention to its abuses of the public trust.
And, more importantly, it makes us realize anew that 56 days is a long, long time for residents in any CHA housing project.
