The Cubs, who were on a record attendance pace, estimate they lost the revenue from about 25,000 fans Tuesday and 20,000 Wednesday because of the two rainouts.
The Braves will start Zane Smith (13-7) in the first game Thursday and Jeff Dedmon (3-3) in the second game. The Cubs will counter with Jamie Moyer
(10-10) and Les Lancaster (3-1).
Informed of Wednesday`s trade that sent his former Expo teammate Bill Gullickson from the Reds to the Yankees for Dennis Rasmussen, Andre Dawson said: ”I remember when Montreal tried to package me and Gully in a deal with the Yankees for Dan Pasqua, Henry Cotto, Rich Bordi and Rasmussen.”
