Dave Scott won his sixth Ironman Triathlon World Chammpionship Saturday in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, after rival Mark Allen faded during the marathon run. Scott`s time for the 140.6-mile endurance test was 8 hours 34 minutes 13 seconds. Allen, who had a 4 1/2 minute lead on Scott at the 16-mile mark of the 26.2-mile marathon, held onto second place with a time of 8:47:30. Erin Baker of New Zealand was the women`s winner with a time of 9:35:24, shattering the 9:49:14 record set by Paula Newby-Fraser last year.

King County (Wash.) Superior Court Judge Richard Ishakawa has sided with the National Football League and denied a request for a preliminary injunction that would have allowed Seattle Seahawks rookie Brian Bosworth to continue using the No. 44 he wore in college. The judge said he saw no clear legal right for Bosworth to be granted legal relief, even though he agreed Bosworth could suffer financially since he has several promotions with his No. 44 being the trademark, including the linebacker`s corporation, 44 Boz, Inc.
