Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

This is what one playgoer told us in a theater lobby:

”I always will have two drinks before I see a play. I think it relaxes me to the point where I will be able to understand certain nuances. I figure most playwrights drink and so . . . .”

We thought this was idiotic and told the fellow so.

”Why?” he said. ”What`s the point of having a clear head if the play wasn`t written with one?”

Instead of yelling, we walked away.

”You don`t think you need a few drinks before `Long Day`s Journey . . .`? Before `Hamlet`? Before . . . ,” he shouted after us, his voice blissfully fading.
