I feel that both CBS` Jimmy ”The Greek” Snyder and Al Campanis, formerly of the Los Angeles Dodgers, should have been fired. I personally found their remarks despicable and lacking any scientific basis.

However, I am disturbed by the media reporting of these ”incidents.” It seems to me that the media have a double standard when reporting statements that whites make concerning blacks. A few examples are:

1. A few years back, Rev. Jesse Jackson referred to New York City as

”hymie-town” and Jews as ”hymies.” I do not remember an overwhelming demand for his resignation as a candidate for the U.S. presidency.

2. Judge Eugene Pincham made a statement, ”Any black south of Madison Street who does not vote for Mayor Washington should be hanged.” Once again, I do not remember hearing a demand for Judge Pincham`s impeachment.

3. Then, of course, there is Vernon Jarrett, who stated that, ”There is not any white person who is acceptable as mayor of Chicago.”

I personally feel that everybody should be treated equally.
