In a Jan. 30 Voice of the people, Ron Johnson states he wants truth in advertising concerning the ”be all you can be” Army commercials. He wants to see ”blood and guts” and ”mushroom clouds” to show his view of what the Army is.

The Army ads portray accomplishment through teamwork, although a sugar-coated view, I admit. Nonetheless, the Army does provide training other than just the art of war. The Army isn`t an easy life, but it does indeed provide direction to the young men and women who have chosen to seek it.

Maybe Mr. Johnson should consider the reason he doesn`t see ”blood and guts” and ”mushroom clouds” up close and personal is because of the armed forces, not in spite of them.
