Treasury Secretary James Baker called for South Korea to take further steps to accept U.S. imports, saying, ”Our market is completely open to Korean goods, but some of our exporters experience serious impediments to their access to the Korean market.” Speaking in Seoul after talks with officials, he also said he believes South Korea`s currency remains undervalued relative to the dollar.
