I`d like to present a side of the ”Lights in Wrigley Field” issue I haven`t run across. Simply, I`m a Lakeview resident who is also a Cubs fan. I look forward to the prospect of walking to a Cubs game this summer without having to sacrifice time at work. What a great way to spend a warm summer evening.

To address some of the other issues raised in the Tribune article of Feb. 24: Maybe, on days when there will be a night game, I`ll have to leave my car parked in the street and take public transportation. Big deal. Will parking really be worse than the dozen nights during any winter when I can`t find a place to park because of snow route restrictions?

To Ald. Bernard Hansen (44th, my ward), who complains of the Sawyer administration ”ramming lights down the throats of the community,” and Paul Kendall (president of C.U.B.S.), who cries, ”We are getting screwed; it`s not fair,” I say welcome to the minority in a democratic government. And to Michael Quigley (vice president of C.U.B.S.), who threatens Cubs fans and owners and patrons of Wrigleyville bars: Please try to prevent me from wearing my Cubs cap in any local bar. Just try.

This is one ”community resident” who is ecstatic about the prospect of night games in Wrigley Field.
