The Bulls have won only three playoff series in the 22-year history of the franchise, although they broke a seven-game losing streak in playoff contests with Thursday night`s 104-93 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Since Michael Jordan joined the Bulls, they are 2-9 in postseason games.
– The last time the Bulls won a playoff series was in 1981, when they eliminated the New York Knicks two games to one.
– Starting guard Ron Harper sat on the Cavaliers` bench in street clothes, sidelined with a sprained ankle.
– During warmups, Bulls public address announcer Tommy Edwards played the Bulls` theme song, ”How Ya Like Me Now?” a soul song Charles Oakley, Jordan, Scottie Pippen and Horace Grant danced to in a homemade video.
All season, that has been the Bulls` response to teams that had beaten them in the past: ”How Ya Like Me Now?”
– This was the first time the Bulls and the Cavaliers have met in the playoffs. They were 3-3 during the regular season, each winning one on the road.
In the Bulls` three victories, Jordan averaged 43 points. In the three losses, he averaged 33.
