The Arbors townhouses in southwest suburban Palos Heights offer a number of custom features such as ceiling fans, whirlpool tub and electric garage door opener as standard.
The 1,700 to 2,000-square-foot units begin at $192,000, and developer Palos Development Venture Co. encourages buyers to custom-design their floor plans.
Just 18 units are planned for the project, according to a spokesman for the developer, as they plan to build-to-suit as much as possible. Two models are open and two units are occupied.
The floor plans revolve around a ranch or split-level two-bedroom plan with an open or enclosed loft space that can be used as a third bedroom. Two to 2 1/2 baths are available.
Numerous special design features include vaulted and sculptured ceilings, skylights and half-circle windows. Walk-in closets are large and plentiful. Half and full basements are also available for even more space.
The Arbors development is at 6500 W. 127th St.
