CLARK EQUIPMENT CO. reported second-quarter net earnings of $13.1 million, or 76 cents a share, in contrast to a loss of $3.6 million in the year-earlier period. Sales rose to $321 million from $280.9 million. Clark, a maker of fork-lift trucks and other equipment based in South Bend, Ind., said second-quarter earnings were up 51 percent from the first quarter.
