A memorial service for Charles Nelson, 75, who wrote many sketches for Northwestern University`s annual Waa Mu variety show in the 1940s and 1950s, first as an undergraduate and later as an alumnus, will be held at 11 a.m. next Saturday in St. Paul`s Episcopal Church by the Lake, 7100 N. Ashland Ave. Mr. Nelson, a 50-year resident of Evanston, died Sunday in Old Orchard Manor, Skokie. He graduated from Northwestern and later taught speech and drama at Catholic University of America, Washington, D.C., for two years. He returned to Chicago and worked for the advertising department of Hart, Schaffner & Marx until his retirement three years ago. A graveside service was held Saturday in Winchester, Ky.
