Once again, desperate mercenaries are putting on the ”moral crusaders”

masks and asking the United States for money to continue the hopeless war on the people of Nicaragua.

Please do not do them service by printing articles like the Jan. 1

”Contra await aid, plot for new push.”

For eight years we have read articles like that. For eight years the contras have successfully kept themselves in the forefront of the world`s torturers, rapists and murderers. And for eight years, especially before aid requests, we read about their new ”human rights” classes, which are supposed to relax all Americans` fears of funding them.

The fact that this group even needs to take classes on protecting human rights says something.

Like the contras in your article, I also spent part of my summer on the Nicaraguan/Honduran border, but I was on the Nicaraguan side.

When I say the contras are the most hated and feared group, I speak for the thousands of campesinos who asked me to bring this message back to the United States. For the sake of Nicaragua, let the contra war die.
