Not long ago, I listened to Sen. Barry Goldwater being interviewed on television. He expressed the opinion that the last Congress of the United States was the worst in the history of this country. Many share that opinion. Its abysmal performance does not entitle the senators and representatives to any salary increase. The proposal of a 50 percent increase is nothing less than obscene.
