Oscar Mayer, a subsidiary of General Foods Corp., filed suit charging Sara Lee Corp.`s Bryan Foods unit with false advertising of its processed meat products. Bryan Stockton, vice president of marketing for Oscar Mayer, said that Sara Lee in its commercials ”deceptively implies that its products are the No. 1 sellers in the South, which clearly is not true.” Stockton added that Chicago-based Sara Lee inaccurately advertised that it beats Oscar Mayer in taste tests.
