Calumet City officials have decided to wait until June 30 to submit a grant application to the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency for a pilot curbside recycling program.
The city originally planned to request $50,000 in matching funds from the agency by next Tuesday, according to Ald. Greg Skubisz (5th), but city officials decided the June date would enable them to submit ”a tighter grant application” that would enable the town to include a list of potential purchasers of the recyclables.
