The way they played Sunday, they probably should`ve been called the Chicago Power-less.

With first place in the American Indoor Soccer Association at stake, the Power was humbled by the Canton Invaders 19-4 at the Civic Center.

The loss dropped the Power (17-12) into third place, a game behind the Invaders (19-12) and a half-game behind Milwaukee.

Canton`s Steve Frick scored three two-point goals in a 14-point, second-half eruption. After Denzil Antonio and Tchiely Eliazard`s pair of two-pointers gave Canton a 4-0 lead in the second quarter, Batata countered with a two-pointer. That was the closest the Power would get.

Chicago`s Michael Richarsdon picked up his 10th penalty minute of the season in the closing seconds of the first half. Canton`s Rudy Pikuzinski was awarded a shootout kick, which he converted to give the Invaders a 5-2 lead at the half.

”We just have to pick up the pieces and get a win in Dayton (on Tuesday),” Power assistant coach Derek ”Scotty” Spalding said. ”The Canton game was an important one for us and we`re extremely disappointed. But there are 11 games left.”
