Motorola Inc.`s application specific integrated circuit division and Schlumberger Technologies` ATE division said they agreed to jointly develop advanced test equipment for the U.S. semiconductor market. The joint development project, code-named ”typhoon,” will result in manufacture of scan-based digital component testers aimed at lowering the cost of testing high-complexity logic chips. The two companies said the initial agreement is valued at more than $8 million.
