A couple of points in your editorial of May 12, ”Look! Up in the sky!
It`s Supertrain!”, need to be clarified.
First, the 300-m.p.h. elevated train is not the stuff of science fiction. It exists right now, in the form of the West German Transrapid. A 25- mile test track has carried thousands of passengers between Hamburg and an exhibition.
Second, it can do more than relieve the congestion at hub airports-worthwhile as that is. Provided there is a rapid transit link between the hub and its downtown, the system will also be excellent for commuters, and thereby relieve highway congestion and pollution as well.
