The latest tests on the ailing left knee of Indiana Pacers center Steve Stipanovich showed no improvement since April. Stipanovich said it is ”a coin toss” whether he will play again. He underwent knee surgery last November and missed the entire 1988-89 season.
”To be honest, it hasn`t improved any as far as my pain is concerned,”
Stipanovich said. ”I think there`s a very good chance I`ll be back. I just don`t know when. Whether I`ll ever be able to play basketball again is impossible to say at this point.”
