Your recent editorial, ”The premature open-space obituary,” accurately and succinctly interpreted the results of the April 4 elections in Lake County. You were right to describe the voters` message as against the
”fanaticism that insists it all must be preserved irrespective of property rights.”
The Village of Grayslake strongly believes that policies of non-cooperation, condemnation of working farms and occupied homes, lack of municipal input, closed meetings and high legal costs have not, and will not, result in an effective and well-planned policy. In the other extreme, over-development of poor quality residential areas and unproductive commercial and industrial projects will not benefit our citizens and taxpayers.
We support neither of these extreme approaches.
