This country lost a mighty good man when Claude Pepper passed on.
It is seldom that an individual comes along in political life who tries to stand up for those who are all but forgotten. In his more than 50 years in Washington, Mr. Pepper was a good spokesman for people who were not rich and powerful.
I hope that someone comes along soon to fill the void that was left by his passing, and that some much-needed legislation is passed revolving around better health care for all of our citizens.
