Cincinnati owner Marge Schott, knowing she`d be sitting at last week`s Reds-Padres game with San Diego owner Joan Kroc, told her players beforehand that she`d treat the entire team to McDonald`s if they won.
”I told her I wanted prime rib,” said Reds center-fielder Eric Davis.
What, Davis was asked, did he think of the possibility Schott would take him up on his suggestion? ”Slim,” he replied.
Davis hit two home runs, and the Reds won 9-6.
