Despite a warning that an upscale residential development could lead to traffic problems, Orland Park officials have approved an annexation agreement for the exclusive LeGrand Estates homes.
Village trustees voted 5-1 Monday to allow developer John LeGrand to build the 12 homes on 10 acres at 11701 W. 151st St.
They did so after a representative from Barton-Aschman Associates Inc., the village`s traffic consultant, urged them to ask LeGrand to revise his plans to include easements for roadways east and west of the project.
But the trustees noted that the project has been under review for more than a year and said the additional easements would ”chop up” the project. The approved plans call for one road leading out to 151st.
