In a letter on cigarette ads, R. Geoffrey, M.D., questions President Bush`s decision to accept a petition from the U.S. Cigarette Export Assn. and asks, ”Has he ever watched a patient die of cigarette-caused emphysema or heart disease?”

Since he is a doctor, may I ask if he has ever watched a patient die from a gunshot wound? Has he ever seen one suffer such as the Wisconsin girl shot in Chicago, Dana Feitler?

I smoke, but that is my choice. I also pay dearly in taxes. Where is the tax on guns? Is he saying it`s all right to have guns, but not to smoke because it might kill you?
