The book I`ve been recommending lately is: I bought a Japanese-language tape and the book that goes with it. I love foreign languages, and I don`t have time to take a class, so I figured I`d try to learn on my own.
Favorite pigout food: It usually would be cheese pizza, but I just started going to a nutritionist. All my favorite pigout foods have been cut out of my diet, so now it`s like, ”I guess I`ll go for some rice cakes.”
Favorite performer: My all-time favorite is Billy Joel. He doesn`t have a whole star-image ego thing happening, which I love.
Prized possession: My `57 mint-green-and-white Ford convertible.
Nobody knows I: Was a big Liberace fan.
I`m better than anyone else when it comes to: Hula-Hooping. I`m not even kidding you. I can Hula-Hoop for a half-hour straight.
I`d give anything to meet: The Pope, more than any pop musician, because I`m pretty religious.
When nobody`s looking, I: Dance around the bathroom with a hairbrush to my own songs.
I hope I never have to: Cook and clean.
A really great evening to me is: Just hanging out. I plan so much of what I do that I enjoy just hanging out and being spontaneous.
The worst advice my mother ever gave me was: Seriously, I`ve got one of these mothers who`s always right.
When I`m feeling sorry for myself, I: Think of something positive. I may read a review that`s not good, but then I`ll turn on the radio and hear, ”The most-requested song of the hour from Sue to Joe . . . ,” and it will be one of my songs, and I`ll just say to myself, ”That`s who I`m doing it for.”
If I couldn`t be a successful musician, I`d love to be a: Starving musician. I couldn`t picture doing anything else.
