Birthday: June 6, 1949.
Birthplace: Glendale, Calif.
Current homes: Hollywood Hills and Laguna Beach, Calif.
Occupation: Actor.
Marital status: Married to Nancy Booth Englund since October.
Children: None.
Car: A 1985 gun-metal-gray Mustang with a big engine.
Working on: Two films-as Freddy Krueger in ”Nightmare on Elm Street, Part V, the Dream Child,” and the phantom in ”Phantom of the Opera.”
Favorite performer: Marlon Brando in his best days.
Prized possession: My English Staffordshire terrier, Sport.
Personal heroes: I went through Clift, Brando and Dean and then switched to English actors-Michael Caine, Albert Finney, Ralph Richardson and Laurence Olivier.
Every New Year`s I resolve: To stop biting my fingernails. I now have 10 little stumps.
I wish I could stop: Eating butter in restaurants.
If I could do it over, I`d: Move to Oregon and just have a completely different existence, be a lumberjack or something totally different.
I`d give anything to meet: Ben Kingsley. I`d love to know what makes him tick.
The worst part of my job is: Auditioning. We rarely are allowed to read with other actors. At a most vulnerable moment, we usually have to read with a secretary, and we`re being judged. But it comes with the territory.
A really great evening to me is: Have some takeout Chinese food, get a foot massage and watch David Letterman.
The one thing I can`t stand in people is: Lately, the ”pose”-they`re learning their personalities from magazines or TV commercials.
If I could change one thing about myself, I would be: A less selfish conversationalist.
I knew I was a grownup when I: Signed my first escrow papers.
My most irrational act: But also the smartest-dropping out of college after three years.
Behind my back, my friends say: ”He tries too hard.”
Three words that best describe me: Energetic, quick and nervous.
