As fish tales go, Randy Lindquist has one to cash in on.
Just the other day . . . Lindquist was deep-sea fishing off the coast of Maine when he leaned against a boat railing and-ploop-something popped from a pocket into the cold Atlantic.
It was an expensive mistake. As his wallet settled in 125 feet of water, Lindquist bid goodbye to $93 and all his credit cards.
Enter Dennis Murphy of Newcastle, N.H., with a catchy ending.
Just six days later, Murphy was trolling for bluefish when he felt his line tug. Assuming he had hooked seaweed, Murphy reeled in-yes, the missing wallet, which he promptly sent to the rightful owner in Randolph, Vt.
”I had better odds hitting the lottery than ever seeing that wallet again,” said Lindquist, ever grateful to be let off the hook.
