– A U.S. Bankruptcy Court judge approved a letter of intent to sell the South Shore Railroad between Chicago and South Bend, Ind., to Chicago-based Anacostia & Pacific Corp. for $34.6 million. Higher bids still could be entered, said Judge John Schwartz. South Shore Railroad is now owned by Venango River Corp. of Chicago, which declared bankruptcy earlier this year.
