I wish to address the recent decision by the Lyric Opera Company to cancel future engagements of Luciano Pavarotti.
I think that this decision is long overdue in light of past ”surprise”
cancellations by Mr. Pavarotti, leaving the Lyric Opera Company and its audiences in the lurch scrambling for replacements. I think we patrons of the opera in Chicago have been used and abused.
I am in total support of Ms. Krainik`s bold and courageous decision.
