Performing the surgery on Greg Walker Tuesday will be team physician James Boscardin at Palos Community Hospital. If it`s routine, Walker will be able to begin rehabilitation in a couple of weeks.
”We`ve talked about getting him in the best possible shape that he`s been in in years,” said manager Jeff Torborg. ”That was difficult for him to do last year with all the medication adjustments (after seizures hospitalized him during the season).
”We`ve even talked about the possibility of having someone train him. He`s such a good man, and he knows that as you get older, you just have to work harder to get in shape.”
– Dan Pasqua, out for the season after knee surgery, swung in batting practice for the first time since the operation. Hit any out? ”I don`t know,” Pasqua said. ”I kept my head down.”
