On Sept. 24, The Arizona Republic carried a reprint from your newspaper entitled ”Abstention has no effect on longevity.”

In response to this article, in which you quote William Franklin Simpson, I want to mention that for the past 40-some years I have been a student of Christian Science and have relied heavily on its teachings.

In a family of seven I became the only member who took up Christian Science as a way of life. I am now the only one of seven still living.

I have passed the ”three score years and 10” that is mentioned in the Bible, and my husband, who is also a student of Christian Science, is beyond me in years, so what does Mr. Simpson have to say about that?
