The International Air Transport Association announced an agreement for a computer-based system that officials said should increase airline profits and help passengers fly where they want with less difficulty. The system developed by Control Data Corp. of Minneapolis is similar to one already used by several U.S. airlines to manage seat inventories. The association, which represents the world`s scheduled airlines, will make the system available for a fee to both large and small carriers.
