John Tesh

Garden City (Cypress) (STAR) 1/2

”Tour De France,” the first album by the ”Entertainment Tonight”

cohost, was composed as background music for CBS Sports` coverage of the bicycle race. On his new ”Garden City,” John Tesh works without a visual counterpart. The songs are new-age, keyboard-based instrumentals, excepting the gloppy ballad ”You Break It” (”You break my heart/You`re gonna pay for it”), sung by Diana DeWitt. ”Destination Paris” harkens back to `70s synth- art rock in its fullest pomp. The rest sounds like it should be coming through television speakers with Al Michaels` voice-over: ”When Eric Flaim began speedskating . . .”
