I was disappointed that the Nov. 28 issue of The Tribune did not carry a larger article on the Siberian editor who was sentenced to three years in a labor camp for ”slandering” a local government official.
Americans are becoming too easily impressed by Gorbachev and his amazing reformations in the Soviet Union. Why, I`ve even heard that the Soviet government is becoming a democracy!
I find this hard to believe, however, when Soviet newspaper editors are still being sent to Siberian labor camps for criticizing the government.
