A restaurant cook who is accused of breaking into a Southwest Side convent and attempting to rape a 68-year-old nun was ordered held in custody Thursday on bond of $250,000.
Salvador Ruelas, 27, of 6818 S. Rockwell St., also was charged with robbing a 40-year-old woman about three blocks from the convent moments after the attempted rape Wednesday, according to Assistant State`s Atty. Mark Struppa.
