King 78, Robeson 58-Top-ranked King (22-0, 7-0) trailed 39-29 early in the third quarter before rallying past Robeson (10-10, 2-5). A 17-9 spurt late in the third quarter brought King back to within two at 48-46 entering the fourth quarter and then the Jaguars blew it open. Jamie Brandon led the way with 31 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists; he had 9 points in the 17-9 run that pulled King back into the game.

”I felt as a senior it was time for me to show leadership,” said Brandon, who along with starters Johnny Selvie and Ahmad Shareef didn`t start the second half because head coach Landon ”Sonny” Cox was displeased with their play in the first half.

”I was prepared to go the rest of the way with the reserves if those guys didn`t respond when I put them back in,” said Cox, who also got 18 points from Shareef, 13 points and 13 rebounds from Selvie and 6 points, 8 rebounds and 6 blocks from Rashard Griffith.

”I`d rather lose with the guys playing hard than have guys out there just coasting.”

Kenyatta Wilson paced Robeson with 18 points while backcourt mate Maurice Hicks added 9 points and 8 assists.
