Occupation: Actor.

Birthday: July 24, 1950.

Birthplace: New York City.

Real name: Stanley Irving Birnbaum.

Current home: Sherman Oaks, Calif.

Marital status: Married to Shari Belafonte since Dec. 30.

Car: A 1987 desert-taupe Mercedes-Benz 560.

Working on: Playing Danny Waleska on ”Knots Landing,” Thursday nights on CBS-TV.

The last good movie I saw was: ”Driving Miss Daisy.” It gives you insights into humanity and has a wonderful message, but it`s still

entertaining.

Favorite performers: Right now it`s Harry Belafonte. But I`d travel around the world to see Vanessa Redgrave and Albert Finney.

Favorite childhood memory: My family was out of a Woody Allen movie, with everyone sitting around the table discussing politics and shouting.

Personal hero: My dad. When I was about 3, I found a pair of tortoise-shell glasses, and I walked into the bathroom while my dad was shaving and said: ”You can tell me. You`re Superman, aren`t you?” And he said, ”Yes, I am.” I believed him for a long time.

I`d give anything to meet: There are so many of them. I visited Shari`s dad`s apartment, and the thing that most impressed me were the pictures of all the great people he broke bread with. The only problem is, I wouldn`t know what to say.

My fantasy is: I`m producing, directing and acting in movies like

”Driving Miss Daisy.”

The worst advice my mother ever gave me was: ”Be happy.” You can`t be

”happy.” I`ve replaced ”happy” with ”satisfied.” I`m over thinking you have to have a smile on your face and walk around bright and cheery all the time. That`s not real.

If I could change one thing about myself, I would be: There`s nothing I would change. There was a time when I didn`t like myself, but I changed that, and part of it meant accepting myself as I am.

If I`ve learned one things in life, it`s: Life is a cycle, and depression is as normal as highs.

When people first meet me, they think I`m: Aloof.

Three words that best describe me: Direct, bright and endearing.
