Burr Ridge`s Village Board has filed a protest with the Du Page County Zoning Board of Appeals, objecting to the proposed rezoning of unincorporated property at the northwest corner of Illinois Highway 83 and Central Avenue.

A proposal has been made to the board to allow the land to be reclassified to office zoning from single-family residential zoning. Though not in Burr Ridge, the property is across Illinois 83 from the village and is within its comprehensive planning area.

”The proposed rezoning would permit the intrusion of commercial zoning in a single-family residential neighborhood, would adversely affect the use of land immediately adjoining, create undue noise and traffic and is contrary to Burr Ridge`s comprehensive plan,” the village`s statement said.
