I must applaud you on devising one of the all-time journalistic spoofs. Many weeks ago you published an editorial eulogizing the prospective loveliness of lawns stacked high with unremoved grass clippings. Your writer was so enthusiastic that I was swept up (no pun intended) with fervor for vistas of ”brown is beautiful” lawns.
Then recently you brought me back to Earth. Your editorial promoting the unrestricted growth of that most obnoxious of all weeds, the dandelion, made me realize that I was the near victim of a diabolically clever hoax.
Congratulations! There must be an award somewhere for such offbeat writing.
