I am a captain with American Airlines and a member of the Allied Pilots Association, not the ”Airline Pilots Association,” as American called it in its Jan. 2 ”apology” advertisement. We have been in contract negotiations for over a year, and American Airlines evidently still does not know the name of our union.
Contrary to the ad`s claim, our union officers never directed members to
”sick out” during the holiday season. The ad is an attempt by American to disrupt our contract negotiations by turning public opinion against the pilots.
