The First National Young Feminist Conference will be held Feb. 1-3 in Akron, Ohio. Organized by the National Organization for Women, it is to include keynote speeches by Molly Yard, NOW president, and writer Gloria Steinem.
The conference will offer discussions and workshops on a range of issues, including reproductive rights, violence against women, women`s health, women in sports, sexism in the media and sexuality and the law.
The conference will include training in campus and community organizing, fundraising and self-defense. Registration is $25 and includes membership in the organization. Scholarships are available to help cover transportation and housing costs. For more information, contact NOW, 1-202-331-0066.
