A teacher at a Zion elementary school is among 30 educators to be named finalists Wednesday for the Golden Apple Award.
Tom Clark, a kindergarten teacher at Shiloh Park Elementary School, was chosen by the Golden Apple Foundation, a Chicago nonprofit organization dedicated to the recognition of outstanding teachers.
Throughout February, the finalists will be visited in their classrooms by observers from the foundation`s 80-member selection committee. The foundation will select 10 winners and announce the recipients May 17. The winners will each receive a stipend, a paid sabbatical to study tuition-free and other benefits.
Clark is a Kenosha resident.
