Looking like Urban Dance Squad and sounding like Steve Miller, Spin Doctors play that ”Big Fat Funky Booty” and pull it off like the New York club-circuit band they are. Although the same six songs are bound to show up on their studio album (due out in April), ”Up for Grabs” has an energetic sound without much crowd noise. The droning ”At This Hour” almost crashes the concert, but after that it`s straight blues and funk with nary a sample or lip-synch-strange for a band called Spin Doctors, which implies record-spinning or house music. It must mean the listener is supposed to spin the record rather than the band for a change.
