”In a democracy,” columnist Jon Margolis quotes me as saying, ”the government should not lie to journalists.” He proceeds to denounce that statement on the grounds that journalists love to be lied to, whether they cover the White House or the zoning board of appeals. Is Margolis a journalist or a crank?
